Is there anyway I get to Control Panel through my C:/ Folder?

My desktop has completely disappeared (don't tell me to try the explorer.exe, been there, done that). I need to find a way to get to the control panel.

Before everyone starts saying ';Go to start%26gt;control panel'; - You should know that I have NO start menu, desktop icons, nada. Just a wallpaper, that's how messed up it is.

Please post if you know how, I appreciate it.Is there anyway I get to Control Panel through my C:/ Folder?
assuming that u have installed windows on C drive. If ur having a explorer window open then use the address bar to go to control panel. If even thats not open then u can go to c:\windows\system on a windows 98/ME machine or to c:\windows\system32 folder on a Win 2k/XP/2003 machine to access individual programs contributing the control panel. All control panel items are exe or msc files thereIs there anyway I get to Control Panel through my C:/ Folder?
I know another method. In run command window type ';control panel';

Without quotes to open it.
reboot your comp ... as it starts press F8 and load ';Safe Mode'; .... log in as Administrator and do a System Restore to a time before you had the prob

Good Luck
Your taskbar is missing so just follow the support articles from Microsoft below. The workaround? Press CTRL+ESC to access the taskbar.

Can you right click on your wallpaper?? If so, you could go to properties and settings and hit the troubleshoot button. Maybe that might help.

Or you could try this....

Look at your keyboard. There is a button between the Alt and Ctrl buttons. It should look like a piece of paper with an arrow. If it has a picture. When you hit this button a box pops up saying :

Toolbars

Show The Desktop

Task Manager

Lock The Taskbar

Properties

If this works for you maybe you just need to show your desktop.

If possible, maybe try to reinstall windows if the other suggestions do not work.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!!
If you right click on your desktop you will see a place that says showmy desktop. just make sure there is a check mark on it by clicking on it twice

Press Ctrl-Alt-Del, the windows task manager appears. Click ';File';, select ';New Task (Run)'; and the ';Create New Task'; dialog box appears. Write ';control panel'; in the white text box of the dialog box and click open. The control panel will open.
